In this two-hour session, you’ll design your own print (or choose from a selection of pre-made designs). You can create a variety of small stamps or one larger piece- the only limit is your imagination! If you already have a design in mind, feel free to bring a printout with you; we can transfer it using tracing and carbon paper.
What is Lino? Lino printing is a popular printmaking technique inspired by traditional woodcut methods, but simpler and easier to learn.

You’ll be guided by your host, Lizzy, through the basics of Lino carving and printing techniques, including health and safety, using different carving tools and widths, and creating texture and shading effects.
Finally, you’ll print your own designs onto a variety of papers and cards. You’re welcome to make as many prints as you like!
By the end of the session, you’ll feel confident using the tools and techniques of Lino printing and will take home your own handmade prints and Lino stamp(s).
Please note: Due to the sharp tools used, this workshop is for ages 16+ only. The workshop will take place upstairs, and participants may need to move between floors to access the sink. Unfortunately, there is no wheelchair access. We also recommend wearing clothes you don’t mind getting a little ink on!
