At Kraken Comics, we’re proud to offer a curated Reference Library of comics and graphic novels for in-store reading. These titles are here for everyone to enjoy — whether you’re exploring something new, revisiting a classic, or just taking a break with a brew from our café.
To help us keep this collection in great condition for all our visitors, please follow these simple guidelines:
Using the Reference Library
- In-store use only – These comics are part of our non-lending library. Please don’t take them out of the shop.
- Handle with care – Clean, dry hands only. Please avoid folding pages or breaking the spines.
- Food & drink – We understand you might be enjoying a coffee or snack from our café while you read. Please just be as careful as you can around the comics. If an accident happens, no stress — just let a member of staff know as soon as possible so we can sort it out.
- Respect all readers – Please keep the space welcoming and quiet for others enjoying the collection.
- Children welcome, with guidance – Kids are encouraged to read! We just ask that children under 12 be accompanied by an adult. Please note that parents and carers are responsible for what their children are reading — not all comics are suitable for young readers. We highlight age recommendations as best we can, but sometimes books get put back in the wrong place. Feel free to ask us if you’re unsure.
Damaged or Missing Comics
If a comic is accidentally damaged or if you notice one that’s missing or torn, let a member of the team know — we won’t bite! It helps us keep the collection looking its best.
Rare or Special Editions
Some titles may be held behind the counter or viewed under supervision. Just ask a team member if you’d like to take a look.
