Batman Year 3

The story of Batman's third year as Gotham's protector is collected in a standalone volume for the first time, in this Deluxe Edition hardcover of a DC classic! Following the game-changing success of 'Batman: Year One' and the influential 'Batman: Year Two,' DC released 'Batman: Year Three' in 1989, from the accomplished creative team of writer Marv Wolfman and artist Pat Broderick. This story details the origin of the first Robin, Dick Grayson, like never before, through a unique framing device that finds the Dark Knight is reeling from the death of Jason Todd-the second Robin. In 'Batman: Year Three,' fans learn how the famed Batman and Robin partnership began, and return to Dick Grayson's early, tragic days as part of the family circus troupe the Flying Graysons. Plus, 'Batman: Year Three' includes the pivotal first appearance of Tim Drake-who would soon become DC's third Robin! and a brand-new introduction by the story's associate editor Dan Rapler, and a brand-new afterword by Broderick. This volume collects Batman #436-439.
